Tuvor is a professional tutoring management platform operated by Tuvor (PTY) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa (Registration Number 2026/454825/07). Tuvor provides software tools to help independent tutors manage their students, sessions, notes, and payments. Tuvor does not employ tutors, act as an agent, or process payments between tutors and students.
Tuvor is currently in active beta. This means the platform is fully functional and ready for real use, but is still being actively improved based on real feedback from real users. Founding members are early adopters who are helping shape the product as it matures. Occasional bugs or rough edges may surface during this period; we take them seriously and fix issues quickly. Your feedback during this time is genuinely valued and directly shapes what we build next.
By creating an account and using Tuvor, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are creating an account on behalf of a student under 18, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on their behalf. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Tuvor accounts are personal and non-transferable. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account independently; users under 18 must have parental consent.
Tutors using Tuvor are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Tuvor. Tutors are solely responsible for the quality, accuracy, and appropriateness of tutoring services provided. Tutors must ensure their qualifications and credentials are accurately represented on their profile. Tutors are responsible for their own tax obligations under South African law.
Tuvor does not process, hold, or facilitate payments between tutors and students. All financial arrangements are made directly between tutors and their students or parents/guardians. Tuvor provides only a record-keeping tool for logging payments. Tuvor bears no responsibility for disputes, non-payment, or financial losses arising from tutor-student arrangements.
Your Tuvor subscription is billed at R249 per month, in advance, through our payment partner PayFast. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, your access to Tuvor ends immediately, and you won't be charged again after that. We don't offer refunds for a billing period once it's been charged, except where required by South African law. If a payment fails, we'll try to process it again automatically and let you know by email. Your account will stay active for a short grace period while we sort out the payment, but access will be paused if it isn't resolved in time. Founding members receive a locked-in rate of R249 per month for as long as their subscription remains active, even if the standard subscription price increases for new subscribers in future. Founding-member status, including this rate lock, ends permanently if you cancel your subscription; resubscribing afterwards is treated as a new standard subscription at the then-current rate, with no free trial.
Tuvor is a digital software service, not a physical product, so there is no shipping or physical delivery involved. Your dashboard access is granted immediately upon successful subscription payment: you can sign in and start using Tuvor as soon as PayFast confirms your payment. If you cancel your subscription, access ends immediately at that point, as described above.
Tuvor collects and processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Your data is used solely to provide the Tuvor platform services. Tuvor does not sell your data to third parties. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by Tuvor. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The Tuvor platform, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Tuvor (PTY) Ltd. Users retain ownership of the content they create (session notes, uploaded materials). By uploading content to Tuvor, you grant Tuvor a limited licence to store and display it for platform functionality only.
You may not use Tuvor to: share inappropriate, harmful, or unlawful content; impersonate another person; circumvent platform security measures; use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate tutoring management; or violate any applicable South African law.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of Tuvor shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If negotiation fails within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA) rules. The arbitration shall be conducted in Johannesburg, South Africa, in English. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek urgent interim relief from a competent court. Class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted. Each party may only bring claims in their individual capacity.
Tuvor provides the platform on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Tuvor (PTY) Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including any loss of data, revenue, or tutoring opportunities.
Tuvor may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via the platform. Continued use of Tuvor after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
